Interest in Lee Kang-in (24) of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) remains strong. José Mourinho (62), who is at the helm of Turkey's Fenerbahçe, is pushing for his signing.
The Turkish media 'Hürriyet' reported on the 18th (Korean time) that 'Fenerbahçe has launched a massive reinforcement effort to win the league. They have added Lee Kang-in to their acquisition list along with PSG's Milan Škriniar and Marco Asensio.'
'Lee Kang-in is a player with excellent skills and marketing value. Negotiations with PSG are progressing positively. Fenerbahçe is planning to bring the three players to Istanbul on the same flight as a surprise gift for fans,' it added.
Lee Kang-in's standing at PSG has narrowed since the second half of the 2024-2025 season. He is in competition with Desiree Due, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Vitinha, João Neves, and Fabián Ruiz, which has put him in a position to struggle for a starting spot.
He has spent much time on the bench in both league and European competitions. Even after the early league victory was confirmed, he could not participate in the final match. He also did not get a chance to play in the French Cup final or the UEFA Champions League final. He could not play in the Club World Cup final either.
Able to play as both an attacking midfielder and on the wing, Lee Kang-in is under contract with PSG until June 2028.
With his playing time decreased, calls for Lee Kang-in to change teams are growing. Teams like Italy's Serie A Napoli and AS Roma, as well as the English Premier League's Manchester United, have shown interest in him. Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe seems poised to join the fray as well.
However, local sources in France suggest that neither Lee Kang-in nor PSG appear to be in a hurry to make a transfer.
'L’Équipe' reported on the 17th that while analyzing PSG's summer transfer market plans, 'Lee Kang-in has not yet expressed a desire to leave the team. The club will not force his transfer either.'
