Korea Expressway Corporation's Hi-Pass volleyball team has strengthened its lineup by signing middle blocker Kim Hyun-ji (28). Returning to the professional stage after eight years, Kim is a skilled player in the business league, equipped with strong attacking power and blocking ability.
Korea Expressway Corporation announced on the 17th, "We have signed middle blocker Kim Hyun-ji, who is affiliated with the Pohang City Sports Council." This signing was a decision made to fill the power gap in the middle blocker position.
Korea Expressway Corporation had only two middle blocker resources on its initial player registration list submitted on June 30. With Kim Hyun-jung's voluntary withdrawal processing, difficulties in operating that position were anticipated. Therefore, the club considered options for player reinforcement and confirmed the signing after directly assessing Kim Hyun-ji at the '2025 Korean Business Volleyball & Professional Volleyball Futures Championship' held in early July in Danyang, Chungbuk.
Kim Hyun-ji began her professional career by being selected by GS Caltex in the fourth round with the sixth pick during the 2015-2016 rookie draft. However, after leaving the team in 2017, she has played in the business league for Yangsan City Hall, Suwon City Hall, and Pohang City Sports Council. She has particularly been recognized for her skills by winning the blocking award at the 2021 Business Volleyball Federation Championship and the Most Valuable Player award in 2023.
Kim Hyun-ji, who will wear the V-League uniform again after eight years, noted, "I am grateful to have the opportunity to return to a professional team." She added, "When I first joined, I didn't get to play much, but since I have consistently maintained my game sense with the business team, I will do my best to help the team in times of difficulty."
