The possibility of a transfer for Lee Kang-in (24) of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is growing. As PSG begins to reorganize its squad, changes in his situation are expected.
French media outlet Foot01 reported on the 14th (Korea time) that "PSG, having concluded the season, has begun to reorganize its squad. Many players are packing their bags. Lee Kang-in and Lucas Hernandez are likely to leave the team in the summer transfer market," citing the social media account of PSG's dedicated channel 'PSGINSIDE-ACTUS.'
PSG finished the season as runners-up in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Lee Kang-in played an important role at PSG until the first half of the 2024-2025 season. However, the situation changed after the winter transfer market. His playing opportunities rapidly diminished following the arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. It is reported that head coach Luis Enrique has completely excluded Lee Kang-in from next season's core player lineup.
Even after confirming the Ligue 1 title early, Lee Kang-in was excluded from the final match roster. He was also unable to participate in the French Cup final and the UEFA Champions League final. The team achieved a treble (three titles), but Lee Kang-in remained on the bench.
The atmosphere within PSG is also negative about Lee Kang-in's future. Coach Enrique has organized both the starting and backup resources according to his vision. He plans to fill even the rotation members with players that fit his tactical philosophy.
Foot01 reported that "Coach Enrique gave Lee Kang-in opportunities at the beginning of the season, but after showing limitations, he no longer trusted him."
However, it added that "PSG will not let Lee Kang-in go for a pittance. They want a reasonable transfer fee. They are looking to secure finances through this."
The minimum transfer fee set for Lee Kang-in by PSG is reported to be €30 million (approximately 48.1 billion won). There are clubs showing interest. Serie A's Napoli has been consistently watching Lee Kang-in since last summer and is also seeking to acquire him this summer. However, it is reported that formal negotiations have not yet started.
Manchester United from the Premier League is also closely monitoring his situation, but it is said that no formal offer has been made.
