The Korea Ssireum Association is hosting the 62nd President’s National Ssireum Championship, which will be held from the 17th to the 23rd for seven days at the Jangheung Indoor Gymnasium in Jangheung County, South Jeolla Province.
This tournament will see 1,130 athletes participating in intense ssireum competitions. Matches will unfold in seven weight classes for individual events across elementary, middle, high school, university, and general categories, with a single-elimination format for all qualifiers through the quarterfinals, while the semifinals and finals will be conducted in a best-of-three format. Additionally, all matches will take place in a tournament (knockout) format.
All matches will be available on the YouTube channel "Sabwa TV," with the opening ceremony and finals for each weight class in the high school individual events and team finals on the 20th, the middle school team semifinals and finals on the 21st, and the elementary school team semifinals and finals on the 22nd being broadcast live on MBC PLUS (MBC SPORTS+).
