Emerging as the center of Korean women's figure skating after winning consecutive gold medals at the 2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games and the ISU Four Continents Championships, Kim Chae-yeon has chosen the song 'Qui a le Droit?' by French artist SANTA for her short program, with choreography by Canadian ice dancer Shae-Lynn Bourne.
Kim Chae-yeon noted about her short program, "I carefully selected the music with the choreographer. The lyrics question the complexity of human existence, making it difficult to express, but I want to convey this message well through deeper choreography and delicate expression."
The free skating music is from the original soundtrack of the movie 'Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War,' with choreography by Canadian Jeffrey Buttle.
Kim Chae-yeon explained, "After being deeply impressed by this movie, I thought I would like to use the OST in my program someday. Since it's a work dealing with the history of Korea, I paid attention to ensure it resonates deeply with the audience during the Olympic season." She added, "This season is the Olympic season, so I feel a bit nervous, but I am also more excited and determined. I want to participate in the Olympics, which has been my dream since I was young, and achieve good results."
Meanwhile, Kim Chae-yeon plans to participate in international competitions for program checks before taking part in the ISU Senior Grand Prix series. Kim Chae-yeon is set to compete in the 'Skate Ontario Kitchener-Waterloo Regional Series' event held in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, in August.
