The Republic of Korea team participating in the 2025 Rhein-Ruhr Summer World University Games (Director General Jang Ji-seok) departed for Germany, the site of competition, on the 14th.
The team officially departed on the 14th at 11:40 a.m. from Incheon International Airport via Lufthansa flight LH719 and is expected to arrive in Düsseldorf with a layover in Munich.
The team that departed on that day is composed of a total of 94 members from five disciplines: badminton, fencing, table tennis, taekwondo (poomsae), and tennis, including headquarters officials. Additionally, the team for diving, swimming, and volleyball, which will be held in Berlin, departed on Lufthansa flight LH713 at 12:25 p.m. with a total of 60 members including headquarters officials.
Subsequently, ▲ water polo (July 15), ▲ basketball, taekwondo (kyorugi) (July 16), ▲ gymnastics (July 17), ▲ athletics (July 18), ▲ archery (July 19), ▲ judo (July 20), and ▲ rowing (July 22) will depart in sequence to join the team locally.
The Republic of Korea team participating in this competition is composed of a total of 311 members from 13 events (225 athletes, 68 officials, and 18 headquarters officials) competing in the games.
Meanwhile, the Republic of Korea team reaffirmed their determination to participate in the competition through a ceremony held on the 4th at the Olympiahall on the 1st floor of the Seoul Olympic Parktel, and will commence the official competition schedule starting with the opening ceremony, which will be held on the 16th at Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena in Duisburg, Germany.
