The professional baseball team Kiwoom Heroes simultaneously dismissed its top executives.
On the 14th, the Kiwoom team stated, "We have notified Manager Hong Won-ki, Director General Ko Hyung-wook, and Chief Coach Kim Chang-hyun of their dismissal from their positions."
Beginning with the first game of the second half against the Samsung Lions on the 17th, Seol Jong-jin, the Futures (minor league) team manager, will serve as the acting manager of the first team. In addition, the position of first team chief coach will remain vacant for the time being.
Along with this, Futures hitting coach Kim Tae-wan will change positions to first team hitting coach, while first team hitting coach Oh Yoon will serve as the Futures hitting coach and acting manager.
Futures pitching coach Noh Byeong-o will change positions to first team bullpen coach, while first team bullpen coach Jeong Chan-heon will move to become the Futures pitching coach.
The Kiwoom team has also appointed Heo Seung-pil as the new Director General. Heo joined Hanwha Eagles in 2011, gained experience in the international operations of the operational team, and joined Kiwoom in 2016.
Since then, he has been responsible for scouting foreign players and all matters related to MLB posting in the international department. From 2022, he oversaw player management and operations as the manager of the operational team.
