OK Savings Bank conducted one-point lessons on the 11th for the Korean U-19 men's national team training at the OK Savings Bank Volleyball team's training gym located in Yongin.
The OK Savings Bank Volleyball team is providing practice facilities and weight training rooms for ball training for the U19 national team, which will participate in the '2025 FIVB U-19 World Championship' starting on the 24th in Uzbekistan. On the 30th of June, a scholarship of 15.5 million won was also presented for the U19 national team.
OK Savings Bank also shared know-how through one-point lessons for U19 national team players. Head coach Shin Young-cheol and the coaches, along with the players, participated by position. Team captain Boo Yong-chan and Jeong Seong-hyun coached the liberos, while Jin Sang-heon took the lead for the middle blockers, and outside hitters Jeon Gwang-in and Kim Woong-bi, along with setter Lee Min-kyu, shared their know-how with the players by position.
The one-point lessons covered everything from warming up before the official training to the basics required for each position, experiences that can be applied in practice, and the mindset required as a professional athlete. Especially since all positional players were present, detailed coaching in the technical aspects was conducted.
Head coach Shin Young-cheol said, "I hope this support, from the scholarship to the one-point lessons, is of some help to the U19 national team players. With the U19 World Championship approaching, I wish for the players to finish their final training well and also perform well at the U19 World Championship."
U19 national team coach Kim Jong-il expressed gratitude, saying, "I thank the OK Savings Bank Volleyball team for providing well-equipped training facilities and a well-planned diet for the players. The one-point lessons led by the OK Savings Bank Volleyball team players for their juniors will be especially helpful in practice. I believe the U19 national team players also felt the sincerity of the seniors from the OK Savings Bank Volleyball team," and added, "With this support, we will do our best to achieve good results at the U19 World Championship."
OK Savings Bank continues various efforts to support promising young athletes in Korean volleyball. Starting with the first scholarship provided to middle and high school volleyball players in 2020, in January this year, through the scholarship fund of the OK Foundation (a public corporation under OK Financial Group), scholarships were awarded to the winners of the MVP awards at five tournaments organized by the Korea Middle and High School Volleyball Federation in 2024. The total amount of scholarships given to the U19 national team has reached 69 million won.
Following the U19 national team, OK Savings Bank plans to support training facilities for the under-21 men's national team participating in the '2025 FIVB U-21 World Championship' to be held in China from August 21st to 26th.
