Director General Lee Dohyun of Jeonbuk Hyundai received a commendation from the Sports Safety Foundation.
The Sports Safety Foundation held the 2025 Night of Sports Safety on the 10th at the Olympic Parktel Olympia Hall in celebration of its 15th anniversary.
The event was an opportunity to reflect on the foundation's achievements accumulated over the past 15 years in the sports field and to declare a vision to leap forward as a national-level sports safety special corporation to create an environment where all citizens can enjoy sports with peace of mind.
More than 220 key figures and attendees, including Vice Minister Lee Jangmi of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Chairperson Yang Yunjun of the Korea Anti-Doping Agency, CEO Shin Chihyung of Korea Sports Industry Company, Chairperson Choi Kwan-yong of the Korean Society of Sports Sciences, and Secretary General Kim Nami of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC), representing the government, sports community, academia, and private sector, attended the event.
Jeonbuk Hyundai, the first domestic professional sports team to receive the Sports Event Safety Management System (KSSF20211) certification, had Director General Lee Dohyun receive the commendation in the safety management institutional sector.
Director General Lee has had a strong interest in sports safety since his time at the Korea Archery Association. He made efforts to adhere to safety management procedures to prevent and minimize safety accidents and risks while hosting international sports events.
Since Director General Lee Dohyun took office, Jeonbuk has hosted various events and achieved stable results. Jeonbuk, which received Sports Event Safety Management System certification in September 2004, has maintained a close relationship with the Sports Safety Foundation.
The Sports Event Safety Management System is a standard requirement established to enhance the safety management system and operational level tailored to the circumstances of domestic sports events, based on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Jeonbuk continues to make efforts to minimize all safety accidents and risks that may occur while operating home games, including K League 1, Korea Cup, and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League, based on this system.
In particular, Director General Lee has collaborated with the Sports Safety Foundation since his time at the Korea Archery Association and has also achieved success with the national team.
Director General Lee Dohyun said, "The efforts of players, front-line staff, security and event personnel, and fans all shone for the safety of the stadium. I will work even harder in the future."
