Real Madrid's transfer market is quiet. There will be no movements for the time being.
Spanish radio 'COPE' reported on the 11th (Korean time) that 'Real Madrid plans to refrain from additional signings unless someone from the squad departs.'
Following the shocking exit from the Club World Cup, Real Madrid is taking time to reflect. They have already brought in Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huyse, and Franco Mastantuono, an attacking midfielder born in 2007, has also joined.
Another priority player is Alvaro Carreras. Real is showing a willingness to negotiate either to lower his €50 million (about 80.6 billion won) buyout clause or to explore partitioning payment.
The report from Spanish radio COPE states that there are currently no additional signings. Journalist Melchor Ruiz noted, 'Real Madrid will not strengthen any positions unless someone leaves the squad.'
The most realistic example is the midfield. Alexis McAllister is a player well-regarded within the club, but the price tag exceeding €100 million (about 161.2 billion won) is something Real does not want to bear. Replacing Luka Modric and Toni Kroos with younger players is also being considered, but the issue is that they do not meet the condition of being 'immediate contributors.'
The same goes for defense and attack. The policy is clear: 'There will be no new faces unless someone leaves.'
The same applies to the center-back position. While monitoring the condition of Militao and Rudiger, who are returning from injury, Huyse has effectively been designated as the starter. David Alaba is the only exception. If he were to leave the team, the transfer market could be revisited for that position.
All these plans come with a caveat: 'discussions with the coach.' The management of Real Madrid plans to meet with the new head coach, Xabi Alonso, after the Club World Cup. Alonso said shortly after the tournament, 'I realized a lot,' and the club shares the same sentiment.
Real Madrid's transfer market is quiet yet uncertain at this moment.
