Moon Seon-min (33, FC Seoul) expressed his determination ahead of the 'Korea-Japan match.' Having played as a joker to change the atmosphere of the national team, he emphasized his sense of responsibility for the team's victory and urged his juniors to 'prepare mentally.'
The South Korean men's national football team conducted training on the morning of the 12th at Seongnam Sports Complex in Gyeonggi Province. The training was a preparation for the final match against Japan on the 15th in the 2025 East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) E-1 Championship.
After being substituted in the second half of the previous match against Hong Kong, Moon Seon-min noted in an interview with the Korea Football Association's official channel, "Substituted players often need to change the atmosphere, and I think I did that well this time. There were many chances, but I couldn't score enough, which kept me awake at night."
When Moon Seon-min was substituted, some of the spectators passionately showed support by performing his 'control tower ceremony.' In response to a question about whether he could perform a celebration after scoring against Japan, he said, "Honestly, because it’s a Korea-Japan match, I want to contribute to leading us to victory more than my signature celebration."
He commented on the play that assisted Lee Ho-jae's goal, stating, "The cross was good, but since Ho-jae made a great run from behind, he seems to have done better in that aspect."
"I want to say congratulations to Ho-jae once again," he said with a smile. When asked, 'If Lee Ho-jae were to buy you a meal?' he responded briefly, saying, "Hanwoo."
Finally, when asked what advice he has for the juniors, Moon Seon-min said, "Given that it's a Korea-Japan match, I think it's really important to prepare mentally. I keep telling the players that mental strength is crucial. Of course, the process we create is important, but we ultimately have to prove it through results, so I'm also mentally preparing myself."
