Shinhan Financial Group (Chairman Jin Ok-dong) announced on the 11th that it will hold the 2nd Shinhan Donghae Men's Amateur Golf Championship at the Illite Golf & Resort in Yeongdong, North Chungcheong Province, starting from the 15th for four days.
This tournament, organized by the Korea Golf Association (KGA) and hosted by Shinhan Financial Group, will feature 112 amateur players representing Korea competing to determine the strongest amateur in the country.
This year’s tournament includes Shinhan Financial Group-sponsored player Kim Min-soo, the KGA ranking No. 1 who finished tied for 4th in the 67th Korea Open held in May, along with national team members and reserve players such as Choi Jun-hee, Lee Jae-won, Yoo Min-hyuk, and Kang Seung-gu, all of whom will compete for the championship.
The format will be a four-round 72-hole (par 72, 6,100 m) stroke play, with 66 players advancing to the finals after two rounds of qualifying. The ultimate champion will receive a spot in the 41st Shinhan Donghae Open, to be held at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Songdo, Incheon, from September 11, allowing them to compete against top players from Asia, including those from Korea and Japan.
