The Korean national soccer team will face Hong Kong in the men's second match of the tournament at 8 p.m. on the 11th at Mirs Stadium in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
After a 3-0 victory against China in the first match on the 7th, Korea is currently in second place (3 points, goal difference +3), following Japan (3 points, goal difference +5).
If a winner is not determined in the final match against Japan on the 15th, the goal difference will need to be taken into account, so a multi-goal performance is needed against Hong Kong, who is considered the weakest team.
Korea has a dominant record of 22 wins, 5 draws, and 2 losses against Hong Kong. The last defeat was 67 years ago in 1958. Since a 0-0 draw in the 1972 Merdeka Cup, Korea has remained undefeated with 14 consecutive wins.
In the previous East Asian Cup in 2022, Korea finished as the runner-up behind Japan.
