Bucheon FC 1995 has agreed to a three-year contract extension with goalkeeper Kim Hyung-keun. As a result, Kim Hyung-keun (31) will remain as Bucheon's goalkeeper until the 2027 season.
Born in 1994, Kim Hyung-keun is a veteran goalkeeper with ten years of experience, having debuted professionally in 2016 and appeared in a total of 125 league matches. His strengths include stable save abilities based on his solid 188 cm frame, organic coordination with the defense, and calm game reading.
Kim Hyung-keun has continued his stable performance since joining Bucheon last season. In his first year with the team last season, he ranked first in K League 2 for clean sheets (13 times) and has appeared in a total of 53 matches while affiliated with Bucheon, placing him third in the club's all-time goalkeeper appearance ranking. Additionally, during Bucheon's recent four-match winning streak, he conceded only one goal and recorded three clean sheets, being at the center of the upward trend, and this season he is currently ranked third in the clean sheets category in K League 2 (6 times).
Head coach Lee Young-min noted, "Since Kim Hyung-keun joined the team last season, he has been a great help. Not only in terms of his individual skills but also in providing generous advice to junior players like Kim Hyun-yeop and Seol Hyun-bin, helping them grow. I feel reassured to have him continue with us."
Kim Hyung-keun shared his thoughts on re-signing, saying, "I am grateful to continue with Bucheon. I have never thought of myself as the number one goalkeeper. I will always do my best and strive to play as a starter."
He added, "I will work hard to repay the fans who always support me quietly from behind, and I will create a season where we can be promoted. If more people come to the stadium, I will repay them with corresponding performance."
