The dodgeball team of the Woosuk University Jincheon campus sports team has once again proven its status as the strongest in the country by producing 10 national representatives at the same time.
Athletes from the Department of Physical Education at Woosuk University will participate as representatives of Korea in the '2025 Japan International Tournament Asia Dodgeball Championship' to be held at Chiba Port Arena in Chiba, Japan, from September 27 to 28.
The national team includes seven male representatives: Jeon Byeong-woo, Park Jin-ho, Park Si-hyuk, Lee Jun, Hong Won-ji, Lee Chung-woo, and Choi Seo-hu; and three female representatives: Kim Hyo-eun, Cha Hee-jin, and Lee Ji-yeon.
The selection of representatives took place through a test conducted by the Korea Dodgeball Association at Jeonju Onbit Middle School on the 29th of last month, with 75 male and female athletes from across the country competing fiercely.
Ye Hyeong-il, the head of the dodgeball team, said, "It is significant that the students are competing as representatives of Korea on an international stage," and added, "I will do my best to support so that the power of the Woosuk University dodgeball team can be recognized worldwide."
Professor Kim Sol also noted, "I am truly proud of the athletes who have dedicated themselves to training even during vacation periods," expressing hope that they will showcase their honed skills at the international competition and achieve good results.
Meanwhile, since its establishment in 2022, the Woosuk University dodgeball team has been active as a semi-training sport within the Jincheon campus sports team, achieving remarkable results including six national tournament victories and producing national representatives for the 2024 Saudi Arabia International Dodgeball Championship, solidifying its position as a central team in Korea's dodgeball community.
