The Hanwha Eagles won their second consecutive game after a fierce battle.
Hanwha defeated the Kiwoom Heroes 6-4 in the '2025 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League' match held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 5th. With this victory, Hanwha secured a winning series for the weekend's three-game set.
Starting pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin recorded 5 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 walks, striking out 4, and giving up 3 runs (1 earned run). The bullpen, featuring Park Sang-won (⅔ inning without allowing a run), Hwang Jun-seo (1⅓ innings without allowing a run), Ju Hyun-sang (1 inning with 1 run allowed), and Han Seung-hyeok (1 inning without allowing a run), also allowed a tie but ultimately secured the victory. Han Seung-hyeok earned his second save of the season.

Oh Joon-seo hit his 3rd home run of the season, and he, Kim Keon-hee, and Jeon Tae-hyun each recorded multi-hit games, but their team's loss overshadowed their performance.
Starting pitcher Lachlan Wells pitched 6 innings, allowing 5 hits, 1 walk, striking out 6, and giving up 2 runs, but the bullpen squandered the victory. Won Jong-hyun (1 inning without allowing a run), Jo Young-gun (⅔ inning with 1 run allowed), Ju Seung-woo (0 innings with 1 run allowed), Lee Joon-woo (⅔ inning with 2 runs allowed), and Park Yoon-sung (⅔ inning without allowing a run) could not preserve the team's win.
In the 4th inning, lead-off hitter Moon Hyun-bin hit a single, and Roh Si-hwan earned a walk. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd thanks to a sacrifice by Chae Eun-seong, Lee Jin-young hit a ground ball to the pitcher, but pitcher Wells chose to make a play at home, allowing 3rd base runner Moon Hyun-bin to slide home safely for the first run. Although Ha Ju-suk was caught out on a fly to left field, Choi Jae-hun followed with a timely hit to add another run. Sim Woo-jun struck out with two outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd.
In the bottom of the 4th, Kiwoom had a chance to rally as lead-off hitter Im Ji-yeol and Lee Joo-hyung hit consecutive singles. However, with Lee Joo-hyung in scoring position due to a stolen base and no outs with runners on 2nd and 3rd, Choi Joo-hwan struck out, and both Stone and Park Soo-jong were retired without producing a score.
In the top of the 5th, with 2 outs, Moon Hyun-bin advanced to 2nd base after a single and a stolen base. However, Roh Si-hwan was retired on a foul fly to first base.
In the bottom of the 5th, with 1 out, Kim Keon-hee hit a double, putting Kiwoom in scoring position. Jeon Tae-hyun struck out, but Song Sung-moon collected a single, and Im Ji-yeol drew a walk, creating a 2-out bases loaded opportunity. Lee Joo-hyung took a walk to push one run across. Choi Joo-hwan's hit resulted in a fielding error by Ryu Hyun-jin and a throwing error, allowing two runs to score and turning the game around. Stone struck out, preventing any further scoring.
With the successful reversal, Kiwoom had another scoring chance in the 6th inning. With one out, Oh Joon-seo reached base on an infield single to second base, and although Kim Keon-hee was caught out on a fly ball to center field, Jeon Tae-hyun got a hit. Hanwha changed pitchers to Hwang Jun-seo, and Song Sung-moon's well-hit ball was caught by the left fielder.
In the top of the 8th, Hanwha's lead-off hitter Moon Hyun-bin reached base on a single. Roh Si-hwan struck out, and Kiwoom brought in closer Ju Seung-woo. However, Chae Eun-seong hit a go-ahead two-run homer off Ju Seung-woo, allowing Hanwha to take the lead again. Hanwha then created two outs with runners on 1st and 3rd through a walk issued to Lee Jin-young and a single from Ha Ju-suk, at which point Kiwoom ultimately replaced Ju Seung-woo with Lee Joon-woo. Choi Jae-hun hit a ground ball to the shortstop, and no additional runs scored.
In the bottom of the 8th, with 2 outs, Oh Joon-seo hit a game-tying solo home run, bringing the score back to even. With Kim Keon-hee and Jeon Tae-hyun's hits, they created a 2-out, 1st and 3rd base opportunity, but Song Sung-moon was retired on a ground ball to the pitcher, failing to regain the lead.
In the top of the 9th, Hanwha's lead-off hitter Sim Woo-jun earned a walk, and Lee Won-seok's sacrifice bunt set up a 1-out, 2nd base opportunity. Liberato hit a 1-RBI double, giving Hanwha the lead once again. Moon Hyun-bin hit a timely single, sealing the game. In the bottom of the 9th, Han Seung-hyeok took the mound to finish the game.
