The 2025 KBO traveling t-ball school visited Yanggu County, Gangwon Province.
KBO held the '2025 KBO traveling t-ball school' at Yanggu Elementary School in Yanggu County, Gangwon Province, on the 3rd. Since 2016, KBO has been hosting the 'KBO traveling t-ball school' every year to promote t-ball in school sports and secure future baseball fans through the development of youth baseball. This event is organized by KBO and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO).
KBO, which holds traveling t-ball schools targeting elementary schools nationwide every year, has achieved significant results in expanding the base of baseball. Since 2016, the t-ball schools in Gangwon Province have been consistently held every year, just like in other cities and provinces, to promote t-ball and youth baseball in school sports.
Due to the regional characteristics of Gangwon Province, it takes a lot of time and effort to introduce and activate new sports in school sports. This year, KBO conducted traveling t-ball schools at Samyuk Elementary School in Donghae City, Seobu Elementary School in Samcheok City, Hannam Elementary School in Yangyang County, Hwayong Elementary School, Changrim Elementary School in Hoengseong County, Namsan Elementary School in Hongcheon County, and Bomnae Elementary School in Chuncheon City to promote t-ball.
The '2025 KBO traveling t-ball school' visited Yanggu Elementary School in Yanggu County, Gangwon Province, on this day. KBO Talent Donation Committee member Choi Gi-moon (former national team coach) and t-ball instructor Jo Seong-je (Korea T-Ball Federation) served as t-ball instructors.
Twenty 4th-grade students participated in the t-ball class at Yanggu Elementary School, and everyone enjoyed the t-ball class together. KBO sponsored educational materials worth 2 million won for the t-ball class. The students and teachers who participated in the t-ball class had a great time together with various coaching activities including catch ball, defense, batting, and t-ball games.
On this day, Yanggu Elementary School teacher Eom Chang-hee, who participated in the t-ball class, said, "Even though t-ball is part of the 5th-grade curriculum, it was not easy to implement it in class due to teaching and equipment issues. I'm very glad to have been selected for the t-ball school in Gangwon Province and have been eagerly waiting for today. I would like to sincerely thank KBO for sponsoring t-ball equipment and dispatching renowned baseball instructors like Choi Gi-moon, along with professional t-ball instructors, to hold a t-ball class with the students. I will do my best to ensure that t-ball classes and sports clubs are revitalized at our school starting today," and expressed hope that this sponsorship project will continue steadily.
