The Korea Rugby Association reported that "Chairman Shim Yeong-bok delivered a donation of 3 million won to the Jindo County Talent Development Scholarship Foundation on the 28th."
The Korea Rugby Association has successfully hosted numerous national competitions in Jindo, contributing to the expansion of rugby and the revitalization of the region. This year alone, the '39th Chungmu-gi National Rugby Championship,' which opened the domestic rugby season, was held for 12 days at Jindo Public Sports Complex in March.
This tournament was a significant event that revived after seven years since 2018, with about 700 players from a total of 28 teams participating in categories including under-15, under-18, university, and general.
Moreover, the '78th National Division Rugby Championship,' held at Jindo Jeondu Stadium in June, saw about 600 participants from 23 teams in the under-15 and under-18 categories, concluding successfully.
Thanks to Jindo County's active support, rugby tournaments have been consistently held. The Korea Rugby Association is working with Jindo County to host events, boost the local economy, and create positive changes in the community through rugby.
Chairman Shim Yeong-bok noted, "Jindo County is a strong partner in the development of rugby, and I am deeply grateful for the success of many tournaments held in Jindo that have provided opportunities for players to showcase their skills." He also expressed, "I hope this donation will be a small help in nurturing the talents that will lead the future of Jindo County."
He continued, "In the future, the Korea Rugby Association will do its utmost for the development of rugby in Korea through continuous cooperation with Jindo County," adding, "We plan to continue efforts to revitalize rugby across the country, focusing all our capabilities on ensuring that Korean rugby further develops and becomes a beloved sport among the people."
