The 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League Shell Helix Player award, presented by the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) and Hankook Shell Oil, has recognized NC foreign pitcher Logan Allen and Kiwoom infielder Song Seong-moon as the winners for June.
The Shell Helix Player award is determined based on Wins Above Replacement (WAR), with Logan from NC achieving a WAR of 1.20 and ranking first in the June pitcher institutional sector.
Logan pitched the most innings in the league with 33 over the month of June, winning 3 games (tied for second place) with an earned run average of 1.91 (second place). He placed highly in key statistics, including 33 strikeouts (fifth place), 27 hits allowed (tied for ninth place), and a WHIP of 1.15 (eighth place), effectively fulfilling his role as a starting pitcher with 5 quality starts.
In the batter institutional sector, Kiwoom's Song Seong-moon was recognized as the winner with a WAR of 1.30.
Over the month of June, Song Seong-moon recorded a batting average of .314 (18th), OPS of 1.020 (second), 6 home runs (tied for second), 22 RBIs (tied for second), and 27 hits (tied for tenth), significantly contributing to the lineup.
In particular, from June 27, during a three-game series against Samsung, he hit home runs in three consecutive games, leading the team to its first sweep of the season while maintaining consistent performance throughout the month.
Song Seong-moon celebrated his award, surpassing strong candidates such as SSG Landers' Park Seong-han (WAR 1.22) and former Lotte Giants batting champion Víctor Reyes (1.21). His impressive statistics have fueled speculation about a potential move to Major League Baseball.
The award ceremony for players selected as the monthly Shell Helix Player for June is scheduled to take place in July at each player’s home stadium, with a prize of 1 million won presented to the winners, sponsored by Hankook Shell.
