Go Jiwoo (23, Samchuly) shed tears after receiving her third career trophy.

It was somewhat unexpected. It was not her first victory, nor had the news of her victories been extremely rare. This is the victory bell ringing again after a year since the Hi-One Resort Open last July.

Go Jiwoo explained the reason for her tears was because there are many people she is grateful for around her. It is more fitting to say she is emotional and tends to cry easily.

Go Jiwoo won at the 'McCall·Mona Yongpyong Open with SBS Golf' (total prize money of 1 billion won, winner's prize of 180 million won) with a score of 23 under par 193 (64-62-67). This is the very tournament where she achieved her first victory on July 2, 2023. Go Jiwoo has been consistently lifting trophies once a year.

Of her three career victories, Go Jiwoo won two at the 'McCall·Mona Yongpyong Open with SBS Golf'. The tournament took place at the Birch Hill Country Club (par 72/6429 yards) in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province. It is a golf course situated at the high altitude of 1,458 meters above sea level, making it the 12th highest in Korea.

Go Jiwoo expressed that the reason she has such a connection with this tournament is "because of the confidence from knowing the course well."

"I came with a good feeling because it is where I achieved my first victory, and since my game went well, I feel proud to have won today," she noted.

As the final score of 23 under par indicates, Go Jiwoo was dominant in this tournament. Her scores of 64 in the first round and 62 in the second round showcased her relentless pursuit. She achieved a wire-to-wire victory and also set a tie record for the 'lowest score over 54 holes.'

Go Jiwoo expressed her ambition, stating, "My goal every season is to be the player with the most wins."

On the final day of the tournament on the 29th, there were no significant obstacles to Go Jiwoo's path to victory. The only threat was her teammate Yoo Hyunjo, who made a notable climb without any bogeys, finishing at 21 under par in sole second place. While Go did ease up a bit in the middle of the game, she comfortably finished with birdies on the 13th and 16th holes.
