Bayern Munich has found a substitute for the championship hero Kim Min-jae (29, Munich).
The German 'Bild' reported on the 28th that 'Bayern Munich has already expressed a willingness to sell Kim Min-jae multiple times. Kim Min-jae has attracted interest from Liverpool and AC Milan. Munich has decided to use the transfer fee gained from selling Kim Min-jae to acquire a new player. The main candidate is Thomas Araújo (23, Benfica). He has been selected as a potential replacement for Kim Min-jae.'
Araújo is a young player at 23 years old, but he boasts a robust physique at 187 cm. He is versatile, able to play both as a center-back and a right-back. Having gone through the Portugal youth national teams, he made his debut for the senior national team last year.
'Bild' noted that 'Munich is not actively considering the sale of Kim Min-jae, who is under contract until 2028. However, if they can recover a significant portion of the transfer fee of 50 million euros (approximately 80 billion won) paid to Napoli in 2023, they would be willing to sell him.'
It is reported that Munich has lowered Kim Min-jae's price to around 35 million euros (approximately 56 billion won). They are hoping to sort this out quickly, even if it means taking a slight loss.
'Bild' assessed that 'Munich is looking for players who can cover multiple positions. Although Jonathan Tah has joined, there is still a need to strengthen the defense. Araújo, who has multi-position abilities, is deemed suitable.'
