The KIA Tigers suffered a defeat due to an error in a critical moment.

KIA lost 3-4 in a comeback against the LG Twins on the 27th at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul. Following a 5-5 tie after 11 innings against the last-place Kiwoom Heroes the previous day (26th), KIA failed to secure victory in two consecutive games.

KIA took an early lead, capitalizing on an error by LG. In the fourth inning, with no outs and a runner on first, a ground ball hit by Wisdom was misthrown by LG third baseman Moon Bo-gyeong, leading to no outs with runners on first and second. KIA's cleanup hitter Choi Hyung-woo hit a double to right field, allowing both runners to score and taking a 2-0 lead.

After one out in the fifth inning, Choi Won-jun advanced to second base after another throwing error by the third baseman. Choi Won-jun successfully stole third base, and Lee Chang-jin drew a walk, creating a one-out, runners on first and third situation. However, Park Chan-ho's well-hit line drive was caught by first baseman Austin with a diving catch, resulting in a double play that squandered the opportunity.

KIA's starter Yang Hyun-jong allowed a go-ahead three-run home run to Park Dong-won in the sixth inning with two outs and runners on first and third, but in the eighth inning, Wisdom hit a solo home run off the left field pole, tying the game at 3-3.

On this day, KIA's top relief pitchers Jeon Sang-hyun, Jo Sang-woo, and Jung Hae-young all pitched for two consecutive games and had a rest day. They were at a disadvantage in the bullpen battle.

Yang Hyun-jong pitched six innings (3 earned runs), while Kim Dae-yu performed well in the seventh. In the eighth inning, Kim Dae-yu allowed a lead-off single to Kim Hyun-soo and was replaced by the right-hander Kim Min-joo, who was called up to the first team that day.

In his first appearance on the first team this season, Kim Min-joo got Austin out on a fly ball to right field. At-bat was Moon Bo-gyeong. Kim Min-joo threw a pickoff throw to first base, but first baseman Oh Seon-woo failed to catch the ball.

The pitcher's throw was directed toward the base runner at first, but Oh Seon-woo rushed the tag and was unable to fully catch the ball. The ball hit the tip of the glove and rolled into the outfield. In the meantime, the runner on first quickly advanced to second.

Commentator Park Jae-hong noted after watching the replay, "Oh Seon-woo should have caught that pickoff. That kind of throw needs to be caught." The official scorekeeper ruled it an error on the first baseman.

With one out and a runner on second, KIA's bench decided to take Kim Min-joo out and replace him with left-hander Choi Ji-min. With two outs and a runner on second, Moon Sung-ju's infield single allowed the runner from second to score. That was the winning run.

Oh Seon-woo made a stunning pick-off in the match against Kiwoom on the 26th. It was a similar situation. In the bottom of the eighth inning, tied 4-4, Kiwoom's Lee Joo-hyung reached base with a surprise bunt single toward first base. Pitcher Jo Sang-woo threw a pick-off throw to first base. Oh Seon-woo tagged Lee Joo-hyung, and the timing of Lee's slide appeared safe.

Oh Seon-woo gestured to the KIA bench to challenge the (out) on video review, and shortly afterward, the first base umpire ruled him out. This was puzzling. Then, Kiwoom requested a video review for the out/safe call.

The replay on the TV broadcast showed that as Lee Joo-hyung slid, he touched first base while holding his batting glove. The batting glove blocked the contact between his fingers and the base, resulting in an out. Had Oh Seon-woo accurately caught this, and if the safe call had been made, a video review would have been requested. KIA overcame a scoring threat due to this pivotal pick-off out. Hong Won-ki, the manager, was ejected for protesting the outcome of the video review.

However, a day later, Oh Seon-woo made a misplay on a pick-off throw, providing the opportunity for a run to score, and KIA suffered a 3-4 loss.
