The Daegu Disabled Sports Council held its first athletes' committee meeting on the 4th floor of the Daegu Sports Council building on the 26th and conducted elections to select the chairperson and vice-chairperson.
As a result of the election, Kim Kyung-tae, the commissioner for the table tennis category, was elected as the chairperson, while Choo Dae-yeob, chairperson for volleyball, and Kim Ro-ha, chairperson for athletics, were appointed as the vice-chairpersons.
Kim Kyung-tae, the chairperson of the athletes' committee, began participating in table tennis as a hobby after finishing 35 years of public service and has actively been involved in the athletes' committee activities. Through this election, he was elected as a representative to advocate for the rights of disabled athletes.
In his remarks after the election, Commissioner Kim said, “I feel a heavy sense of responsibility for having the opportunity to represent the voices of those in disabled sports,” and he noted, “I will closely cooperate with the sports council to protect the rights of disabled athletes and improve their working conditions.”
