Samsung Lions' new foreign pitcher Herson Garavito made his starting debut on the 26th at Daegu Samsung Lions Park against the Hanwha Eagles.

In his first matchup against Lee Jin-young from Hanwha in the top of the first inning, he recorded a maximum speed of 155 km/h and struck out swinging after throwing 12 pitches.

Supported by a solo home run from Kang Min-ho in the bottom of the fourth, Garavito completed a successful debut with 5 innings pitched, 1 hit allowed, no walks, 4 strikeouts, and no runs scored.

He threw a total of 62 pitches, mixing 6 types of pitches effectively, including 11 fastballs at a maximum speed of 155 km/h, 17 sinkers, 15 sliders, 11 changeups, 7 sweepers, and 1 curveball. While his fastball was effective, his changeups and curves against left-handed batters, as well as the sliders against right-handed batters, also showed good movement.

Garavito, who had met the conditions for a winning starter in his debut, saw his chance for a first win delay as the Samsung bullpen failed to maintain a 1-run lead.
