Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jacob Misiorowski (23) secured a victory by defeating Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skins (23) while wearing shoes for his father, who is suffering from an incurable disease.

Misiorowski started the game against Pittsburgh on the 26th (Korea time) at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, recording a victory with 5 innings pitched, 2 hits, 2 walks, 8 strikeouts, and no runs allowed.

In the first inning, after allowing the leadoff batter Adam Frazier to reach second base with a walk and a stolen base, Misiorowski caught Brian Reynolds with a fly ball to center field and struck out Spencer Howard and Nick Gonzales with swinging Samjin, escaping a self-created jam. His four-seam fastball reached a maximum velocity of 102.4 mph (164.8 km/h). With the four-seam pitch making up 64% of his throws, he actively challenged batters and recorded a 38% swinging strike rate. Pittsburgh batters struggled to cope with Misiorowski's powerful fastball.

Misiorowski's starting pitcher matchup was against the exceptional rookie Sskins, who won the National League Rookie of the Year award last year. Sskins recorded 11 wins and 3 losses with an earned run average of 1.96 over 23 games (133 innings) last season, making a sensation. Misiorowski joined Milwaukee as a 2nd round (63rd overall) pick in the 2022 Rookie Draft. In the current season, he made his big league debut, appearing in 3 games (16 innings) with 3 wins and an earned run average of 1.13.
