The Doosan Bears of professional baseball held a special pitch event to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the South Korea-U.S. alliance and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the South Korea-U.S. Combined Division.

The Doosan Bears announced, "On the 26th, at Jamsil Baseball Stadium, we will carry out a ceremonial first pitch and first hit in hopes of victory in the regular season matchup against the SSG Landers."

On this day, the ceremonial pitch will be handled by Major General Charles T. Lombardo, the commander of the 2nd U.S. Infantry Division/South Korea-U.S. Combined Division, and the first hit will be taken by Brigadier General Lee Woon-jang, the chief of the South Korea-U.S. Combined Division Coordination Group.

This event was planned in collaboration among the Doosan Bears, Doosan Bobcat, and the South Korea-U.S. Combined Division to strengthen relationships and promote cultural exchanges in celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the South Korea-U.S. alliance and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the South Korea-U.S. Combined Division.

A representative from the South Korea-U.S. Combined Division said, "If I were to express our division in one word, it would be 'hustle.' It is an honor to have the opportunity to pitch at the game of the Doosan Bears, 'Hustle Doo,' in celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the South Korea-U.S. alliance and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the South Korea-U.S. Combined Division. I hope the South Korea-U.S. alliance continues to remain strong in the future."

About 200 South Korean and U.S. soldiers from the 2nd U.S. Infantry Division/South Korea-U.S. Combined Division also attended the event, adding significance to the occasion.
