On the 25th, professional baseball team KT Wiz signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the U.S.-South Korea Combined Forces Command at Suwon KT Wiz Park to commemorate the month of remembrance for the fallen.
KT signed a business agreement for medium- to long-term exchange cooperation with the U.S.-South Korea Combined Forces Command, including providing opportunities for attending sports events, and donated funds to encourage and boost the morale of military personnel. The signing ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Kang Shin-cheol, deputy commander of the U.S.-South Korea Combined Forces Command, and Lee Ho-sik, CEO of KT Sports.
With this agreement, KT plans to designate June 25, known as the Korean War Day, as "Combined Forces Day" and hold various events for military personnel working to defend the territory of South Korea.
Additionally, it plans to support group attendance at baseball and basketball games and ticket purchase discounts for combined forces personnel and to continue advancements of the English version of the WEEAP to enhance accessibility for U.S. military personnel.
From the 24th to the 26th, KT designated a three-game series against the LG Twins as a military series, inviting over 300 members of the Air Force's 10th Fighter Wing on the 24th and over 500 members of the Marine Corps Command on the 26th.
On the 26th, a precise and disciplined ceremony performance by the Marine Corps Command drew great enthusiasm from the audience. The opening pitch and ceremony were conducted by Kim Jong-ik, who has served in the Marine Corps across three generations (grandfather, Class 127, retired master sergeant) and Kim Joo-ho (grandson, Class 68, currently serving as a lieutenant in the 52nd Battalion), delivering a profound resonance.
