'The second army rulers' Sangmu set a new record for the most consecutive wins in the Futures League.

Sangmu, led by Manager Park Chi-wang, won 5-2 against the KIA Tigers in a home game held on the 24th at the Mun-gyeong Stadium, achieving an amazing 15-game winning streak.

Sangmu set the starting lineup with Ryu Seung-min (center fielder), Ryu Hyun-in (second baseman), Han Dong-hee (third baseman), Lee Jae-won (left fielder), Yoon Jun-ho (catcher), Jeon Ui-san (first baseman), Kim Jae-sang (shortstop), and Kim Hyun-jun (right fielder). The starting pitcher was Kim Dong-joo.

The first point went to KIA. In the top of the first inning, after two outs, Park Hyun hit a double that sliced through right-center, and Lee Woo-sung broke the scoreless tie with a one-RBI single to right.

Sangmu retaliated in the bottom of the third inning. After one out, Ryu Hyun-in started the innings with a single to center. Although Han Dong-hee flew out to left field, Lee Jae-won, who was known as a big boy at Jamsil with the LG Twins before enlistment, launched a 135-meter two-run homer off KIA starter Kim Kyung-mook, marking his 18th home run of the season, which came nine days after the game against the Samsung Lions on the 15th.

In the bottom of the fifth, leadoff hitter Ryu Seung-min hit a double, creating an immediate scoring opportunity with no outs at second base. After Ryu Hyun-in flew out to left field on the first pitch and Han Dong-hee grounded out to first, Lee Jae-won delivered an RBI double to extend the lead.

In the top of the sixth, KIA's leadoff hitter Hong Jong-pyo drew a walk to get on base. Choi Jeong-yong popped out to left field and Park Hyun also popped out to center, but with a stolen base by Hong Jong-pyo and a walk to Lee Woo-sung, KIA had a chance with two outs and runners on first and second, where Byun Woo-hyuk hit an RBI single to narrow the gap.

The Sangmu lineup surged again in the bottom of the eighth. Leadoff hitters Yoon Jun-ho and Kim Jae-sang walked, and Kim Hyun-jun was hit by a pitch, filling the bases with one out. Jung Eun-won then hit an RBI single to right, and Ryu Hyun-in walked to effectively seal the game.

Sangmu's starter Kim Dong-joo earned the win, pitching 5⅔ innings, allowing 4 hits, 1 walk, striking out 5, and giving up 2 earned runs on 90 pitches. He was followed by Kim Dong-hyeok (⅓ inning, no runs), Hong Seung-won (1 inning, no runs), Lee Yong-jun (1 inning, no runs), and Kim Gyu-yeon (1 inning, no runs).

With this victory, Sangmu established a new record for the most consecutive wins in the Futures League (15 wins).

Starting from their victory on the 30th of last month against the Mun-gyeong SSG Landers (12-6), Sangmu reached a tie record for the most consecutive wins in the Futures League (third in history) on June 18 with a 6-4 victory against Mun-gyeong SSG, finally writing a new history today. The previous record of 14 consecutive wins was set by the LG Twins in the 2021 season and the Hanwha Eagles in the 2022 season.

During the 15-game winning streak, Sangmu hit a remarkable total of 38 home runs, backed by power hitters such as Lee Jae-won and Han Dong-hee.
