Tottenham is considering the acquisition of Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze (26). This acquisition could symbolize the symbolic beginning of the new management of Thomas Frank.
British media outlet The Guardian reported on the 24th (Korean time) that 'Tottenham has maintained a close relationship with Eze and his agency. The club is targeting Eze as a symbolic first signing for Manager Frank.'
Tottenham has already fully acquired Mathys Tel, who was previously on loan from Bayern Munich, for £30 million (approximately 55.5 billion won).
To acquire Eze, it is reported that Tottenham would need a buyout amount of £68 million (approximately 125.8 billion won), which is more than double this amount.
Last season, Eze showed the most impressive performance at the end of the Premier League, scoring 9 goals in 13 matches. He scored 2 goals against Tottenham and netted the winning goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City. Notably, on March 24, he recorded his debut goal for the England national team in a World Cup qualifier against Latvia.
Eze also possesses tactical versatility. He is capable of playing both as a winger and a central attacking midfielder. England national team manager Thomas Tuchel recently utilized him as a two-top resource in a friendly match against Senegal.
According to The Guardian, Eze is under CAA BASS. This agency manages key Tottenham players such as Son Heung-min, James Maddison, and Pape Sarr, and is expected to have a positive impact during the negotiation process.
Meanwhile, Son Heung-min's long-term future is uncertain. He has one year left on his contract and will turn 34 next summer. Recently, rumors about a transfer to the Saudi Pro League have been continuously raised.
Tottenham has agreed to acquire Japanese national defender Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale for £5 million (approximately 8.8 billion won). Takai is expected to join North London next month.
