Doosan Bears owner Park Jung-won, chairman of Doosan Group, visited Jamsil Stadium to express gratitude for the hard work of firefighters and their families on-site.

Park Jung-won, chairman of Doosan Group, visited the sixth game of the season against SSG Landers on the 24th at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul.

On this day, Doosan Bears and the National Fire Agency held "Family Day with Doosan Bears" for firefighters and their families. They invited a total of 1,119 individuals, including active firefighters and the families of firefighters who lost their lives while protecting disaster sites, to express gratitude for their dedication and sacrifice for citizen safety.

The starting pitcher for the day was firefighter Son Yong-won from the Gyeongbuk 119 Wildfire Response Team, who played a crucial role in suppressing the record-breaking wildfire in Yeongnam last March. Wearing the firefighting uniform he had during the Yeongnam wildfire suppression efforts added significance to the event.

After the third inning, Park Jung-won personally went to the stands to present bouquets to starting pitcher Son Yong-won and his father, Fire Lieutenant Son Jin-bok. Fire Lieutenant Son Jin-bok had participated in the firefighting efforts during the Daegu subway disaster in 2003.

It didn't stop there. Park Jung-won presented AI-restored family photos and memorabilia to the bereaved family of the late Fire Chief Sim Mun-kyu, who lost his life in the line of duty in 2018. The late chief died while engaged in rescue efforts on the Han River. His twins were still infants at that time, and AI was used to restore the image of their heroic father, resulting in a family photograph.

The bereaved family of the deceased responded by creating a rolling paper frame and presenting it to Park Jung-won. It's said that Park Jung-won, who was unaware of this in advance, was moved.

Doosan Group has been conducting care events for firefighter families since 2017. This project supports firefighters working on the front lines as well as the families of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, and it has been personally overseen by Park Jung-won.

A representative from Doosan Bears stated, "The firefighter family event was organized at the group level with the chairman at the center. We hope that the hard work of the firefighters on the front lines will be conveyed to many. Doosan Bears will continue to pay respect to the hard work of various individuals as a professional baseball team."
