The South Korea U-22 soccer team will begin training.
The Korea Football Association announced on the 24th that "the U-22 national team training camp led by coach Lee Min-seong will be held from the 30th to July 4th in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province."
This camp is designed to assess team composition and strengthen cohesion in preparation for the 2026 AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers, which will be held in Indonesia in September. During the training period, there will also be a practice match against Ulsan Citizens Football Club on July 2nd.
The squad consists of 27 players, comprising 18 from K League 1 and 9 from K League 2. Nine players, including Moon Hyun-ho, Lee Seung-won, and Choi Ye-hoon (all from Gimcheon Sangmu), were previously called up for a friendly against Australia, while the rest marks their first call-up under coach Lee Min-seong. Players born in 2005, such as Jeong Ma-ho (Chungnam Asan), Lee Geon-hee (Suwon Samsung), and Kim Joon-ha (Jeju SK), who were not included in the last camp, have also been selected.
K League 2 players will be released early after the practice match on July 2nd, considering their club's weekend match schedule (July 5th). However, by agreement with their clubs, Kim Jeong-hyun, Choi Hyun-woong (both from Chungnam Asan), and Moon Geon-ho (Cheonan City FC) will continue training until July 4th.
In addition, Lee Seung-won (Gimcheon Sangmu), who was also selected for the EAFF E-1 Championship squad, will participate in the U-22 national team training from June 30th before moving to the senior national team on the 3rd of next month. This decision was made through discussions between head coach Hong Myung-bo and coach Lee Min-seong.
