After hearing that the team had a record of 1 win and 9 losses against KT.

The unfinished slugger of the professional baseball team NC Dinos, Song Seung-hwan (outfielder), hit a walk-off home run.

On the 22nd, Song Seung-hwan started as the fifth right fielder in the home game against KT Wiz in the Futures League held at Changwon Masan Stadium. In his first at-bat in the second inning, Song Seung-hwan hit an infield single and then in the fifth inning, with one out and runners on first and second, he added to his hits with a left-field single, achieving a multi-hit game and an RBI.

Song Seung-hwan stepped up to the plate in the ninth inning with the score tied at 6-6 and two outs with no runners on base. He faced KT pitcher Moon Yong-ik, and on a 3 balls and 1 strike count, he struck the fifth pitch to become the hero of the walk-off home run.

NC defeated KT 7-6. The team deployed a total of nine pitchers, including starter Hong Jae-mun, Choi Woo-seok, So Yi-hyun, Kim Tae-hyun, Kim Min-kyu, Noh Jae-won, Kim Jin-ho, Kim Jae-yeol, and Kim Jun-won. Kim Jun-won, who took the mound in the ninth inning, recorded a scoreless inning (1 hit and 1 walk) for his fourth win of the season.

Kim Se-hun contributed as well, finishing with 3 hits. On the other hand, KT's Choi Dong-hee hit back-to-back home runs in the seventh and ninth innings, but it was overshadowed by the team's loss.

After graduating from Seoul High School, Song Seung-hwan began his professional career when he was selected in the second round of the 2019 Doosan Bears draft and transferred to NC through the second draft on Nov. 2, 2023.

In 54 games in the first team, he posted a batting average of .223 (25 hits in 112 at-bats) with 1 home run, 8 RBIs, and 14 runs. This season in the Futures League, he has demonstrated high-level hitting with a .327 batting average (48 hits in 147 at-bats), 6 home runs, 32 RBIs, 23 runs, and 1 stolen base.

Becoming the hero of the walk-off home run, Song Seung-hwan said through the official Instagram of the club's Futures team, "After hearing that the team had a record of 1 win and 9 losses against KT, all the players approached the game with a mindset of winning."

He continued, "Today's game was filled with tension as it went back and forth. At the end, we had a walk-off chance, and I thought, let's aim for something big, and it seems I timed it well to get a good hit," adding, "I'm happy to win. I will show good performances in the future and make sure to greet everyone at Team N."
