Doosan Bears' "Achy Finger" Kim Yu-seong collapsed again with poor control in the second team. He caused a crisis with three wild pitches and four walks over two innings.

Kim Yu-seong took the mound in relief during the away game against Kia Tigers in the 2025 Mediheal KBO Futures League at Hampyeong-Kia Challengers Field on the 22nd, where he pitched two innings, gave up six hits, four walks, one strikeout, and allowed seven runs, becoming the losing pitcher.

Kim Yu-seong took the mound as the team's third pitcher in the bottom of the seventh inning with a 2-0 lead. The lineup had built a 2-0 lead with one run each in the second and third innings, while starting pitcher Kim Ji-yoon (three scoreless innings), Hong Min-kyu (two scoreless innings), and Ko Hyo-jun (one scoreless inning) kept the Kia batters scoreless for six innings.

Given the setup role, Kim Yu-seong struggled. After giving up a single to lead-off batter Park Heon, he made a wild pitch, then allowed Lee Woo-sung an infield single and walked Yejinwon on six pitches, creating a bases-loaded crisis.

Kim Yu-seong's control did not improve. After giving up a wild pitch that allowed a run to score, he also walked Park Sang-jun after seven pitches, continuing the bases-loaded crisis. Following that, he faced Joo Hyo-sang and pinch-hitter Seo Geon-chang, who both hit sacrifice flies, allowing the opponent to come from behind 2-3.

Kim Yu-seong took the mound in the bottom of the eighth with the game tied at 3-3, where he gave up a single to lead-off batter Hong Jong-pyo. He managed to get Kim Jae-hyun out with a fielder's choice but then walked Park Heon on seven pitches before allowing Lee Woo-sung to hit a one-RBI single.

With one out and runners on first and second, Kim Yu-seong walked Yejinwon after eight pitches, again creating a bases-loaded crisis. He then faced Park Sang-jun and Joo Hyo-sang, who hit consecutive RBI singles, and allowed a sacrifice fly to Jang Si-hyun, completely giving the momentum to Kia.

After continuing with two outs and runners on first and second, Kim Yu-seong finally struck out Oh Jeong-hwan on three pitches to end the inning, but he had already given up seven runs by himself.

Doosan suffered a 3-7 comeback loss to Kia amid Kim Yu-seong's struggles.

Third-year right-handed prospect Kim Yu-seong won the fifth starter competition this year but has been struggling with severe control issues, leading to a 49-day period of reorganization in the second team since mid-April.

Before being demoted, Kim Yu-seong experienced trials, including being involved in a bench-clearing incident due to wild pitches and threats caused by control issues in the first team. He gave up 12 walks in three games throughout May.

Kim Yu-seong received a call from acting manager Jo Seong-hwan on the 12th and spent six days in the first team. He finally got his opportunity in the game against Daegu Samsung Lions on the 17th, pitching 2⅓ innings, giving up two hits, two walks, four strikeouts, and one run, but was informed he would return to the second team the following day.

After a 16-day gap since the game against Goyang Heroes, Kim Yu-seong took the mound in the Futures League again but was unable to find his groove. He still has a long way to go.
