The return of 3x3 to Sinchon has succeeded in generating excitement for the upcoming tournament.
The 'NH Nonghyup Bank 2025 KXO 3x3 Seoul-Sinchon Light Quest,' held for two days on the 21st and 22nd at the special court in front of the Hyundai Department Store Sinchon branch, featured U18 and men's open domestic tournaments alongside top-tier domestic and international 3x3 teams. This tournament marked an unprecedented success in terms of ticket sales, giving the citizens in Sinchon a chance to enjoy 3x3.
Held in Sinchon, the mecca of street basketball in the 1990s and a street of youth, this tournament evoked nostalgia and attracted many citizens. The event began under adverse weather conditions with rain on the morning of the 21st, but the weather cleared up in the afternoon, allowing citizens visiting Sinchon to enjoy the outdoor special court.
This tournament, held in Sinchon where the population flow is high, succeeded in attracting crowds, filling the stands and having many spectators standing around the court to watch the games. This event, which gathered a crowd, not only showcased high-level matches but also prepared various event products to inform citizens about 3x3.
The success of this tournament can be attributed to the active cooperation of the Seodaemun District. On the 21st and 22nd, when the French Street Music Festival was scheduled to take place, Seodaemun District partnered to host the NH Nonghyup Bank 2025 KXO 3x3 Seoul-Sinchon Light Quest, injecting vitality into the streets of Sinchon.
Lee Seong-heon, the head of Seodaemun District, said, "The French Street Music Festival has consistently established itself in the country, growing into a cultural exchange platform. This year, I wanted to provide a special weekend experience to the many citizens visiting Sinchon by attracting the 3x3 international tournament." During the event on the 21st and 22nd, booths showcasing various French foods and charming items were set up around the competition area, capturing the attention of the citizens.
In the final of the Light Quest, the main event of this tournament, Valencia (Spain) triumphed over Jump Shot (Singapore) with a score of 18-17, claiming the championship. Valencia secured a prize of $3,000, along with a ticket to the 'FIBA 3x3 Beijing Tongzhou Challenger 2025,' which will be held in October in Beijing, China, while the runners-up, Jump Shot, were left satisfied with a prize of $1,000.
In the fiercely contested domestic tournament, Changwon RKDR triumphed over Mirae Ai with a score of 21-12 in the U18 division, while in the men's open division, Assist, showcasing superior skills, defeated RNT Legacy 13-9 to claim victory.
Park Geon-yeon, the president of KXO, noted, "I would like to thank Seodaemun District, the Seodaemun District Sports Council, and the Seodaemun District Basketball Association for their efforts in successfully hosting this tournament. I am overwhelmed that such a wonderful tournament was held in Sinchon, which feels like home. I thank everyone who participated this time, and I will continue to work to expand exchanges with various overseas teams to promote the development of Korean 3x3," declaring the conclusion of the NH Nonghyup Bank 2025 KXO 3x3 Seoul-Sinchon Light Quest.
Since February, KXO has been hosting KXO STOP every month and will hold the NH Nonghyup Bank 2025 Youth Basketball Super Cup in Jeongseon in July.
