LG's best hit product this season has risen to become the top native earned run average in the KBO League.

The LG Twins secured a decisive 13-5 victory in their eighth matchup of the season against the Doosan Bears at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 22nd.

Second-place LG ended a two-game losing streak, recording 42 wins, 2 draws, and 30 losses for the season.

Starting pitcher Song Seung-gi achieved his eighth win of the season (4 losses) with a performance of 6 innings, 6 hits allowed (1 home run), 3 walks, 4 strikeouts, and 1 earned run on 100 pitches. He lowered his earned run average to 2.57, surpassing the Samsung Lions' Won Tae-in, who has an average of 2.59, to become the top native earned run average.

Following him were Jang Hyun-sik (1 inning, no runs), Jung Woo-young (0 innings, 3 runs), Sung Dong-hyun (0 innings, 1 run), Lee Ji-kang (1 inning, no runs), and Yoo Young-chan (1 inning, no runs). Although Jung Woo-young and Sung Dong-hyun encountered a brief crisis with wild pitches and walks, Lee Ji-kang stepped up and fulfilled his role as a firefighter.

The batting lineup exploded with 15 hits against the Doosan mound. Park Hae-min led the offense with 3 hits, 3 RBIs, 1 walk, and 1 run in 4 at-bats, while Gu Bon-hyeok contributed 3 hits, 1 RBI, and 3 runs in 4 at-bats, with Shin Min-jae, Kim Hyun-soo, and Lee Ju-heon providing support with multi-hit games.

LG manager Youm Kyoung-youb said after the game, "Although Song Seung-gi is our fifth starter, he pitched like a true ace and helped break the losing streak. The offense was able to take control of the game from the start with Kim Hyun-soo's first RBI in the first inning. I want to commend all the hitters for showing focus in scoring situations today. It feels like we won with our typical LG style of baseball after a long time."

LG also saw the 23,750-seat Jamsil Stadium filled to capacity, achieving a full house for the season. Manager Youm Kyoung-youb expressed gratitude on behalf of the team, stating, "The players worked hard throughout the week, and thanks to the passionate support from our fans who packed Jamsil Baseball Stadium today, we were able to break the losing streak and secure the victory. Thank you."

Captain Park Hae-min, who showcased a 3-hit performance, noted, "It was a satisfying game to quickly break the losing streak. Especially, it was great to end the week with a win." He added, "The players overall struggled with their hitting, but we scored a lot today, and I hope this momentum continues. I appreciate our fans for coming out to the stadium every day. As the weather gets hotter, we will repay you with hot performances."

After a day's rest, LG will face KT Wiz in a three-game series starting on the 24th in Suwon.
