Kiwoom Heroes invited a ceremonial first pitch thrower in commemoration of the month of patriotism and veterans.

Kiwoom announced on the 22nd that "the first pitch ceremony in collaboration with the United Nations Command (UNC) will take place during the game against the Kia Tigers on the 25th at 6:30 p.m. at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome."

On this day, the first pitch will be thrown by Lieutenant General Derek Macaulay of the Canadian Army, Deputy Commander of the UNC, and the pitch will be by Staff Sergeant Justin Engle of the U.S. Army, who is part of the UNC Honor Guard.

This event is organized to reflect on the historical significance of the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War and the establishment of the UNC, and to express gratitude for dedication and sacrifice.

Lieutenant General Macaulay remarked, "It is very meaningful to honor the heroes of the Korean War in such a wonderful baseball stadium. I feel a great pride in the fact that the UNC, established to protect this beautiful country, is still with the Korean people today."

Staff Sergeant Engle said, "It is a great honor to be here. I cherish the Korea-U.S. alliance and sincerely support the beloved Korean people. I hope the players also put on a great game."

The UNC has contributed to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula since its establishment in 1950 "under one flag." Even today, on the 75th anniversary of its establishment, it faithfully carries out its original mission of supporting peace and security on the Korean Peninsula in close cooperation with South Korea.
