Doosan Bears pitcher Kwak Bin recorded his second consecutive victory.

On the 21st, Kwak Bin took the mound as the starting pitcher in a game against LG at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul, where he recorded 6 innings, allowing 7 hits (1 home run), 2 walks, 2 strikeouts, and 4 earned runs.

Kwak Bin allowed a game-tying hit to Moon Sung-ju with 2 outs and runners on first and second base in the bottom of the first inning when leading 1-0. He gave up a hit with 2 outs in the second inning but ended without allowing any runs, and he recorded a 1-2-3 inning in the third.

In the fourth inning, leading 3-1, he allowed consecutive hits to Moon Bo-gyeong and Moon Sung-ju, then surrendered a go-ahead three-run home run to Park Dong-won. He threw a 153 km/h fastball high and outside on a 1-strike count, which went over the right field fence for a home run.

Doosan tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth inning with 1 out and runners on second and third base on Kim Dong-jun's ground ball. In the sixth inning, they capitalized on the LG bullpen with hits from Kim Jae-hwan and Lee Yu-chan to set up runners on first and third base, taking a 6-4 lead with an RBI infield single from Oh Myung-jin and an RBI infield single from Lim Jong-seong. They provided support for their homegrown ace.

Closer Kim Taek-yeon allowed 1 run in the bottom of the ninth but preserved the 6-5 victory.

After the game, Kwak Bin said, "I had 4 earned runs in 6 innings, and yet here I am doing an interview," laughing shyly. Kwak Bin suffered an injury to his internal oblique and spent over two months in rehabilitation at the end of spring training. He made his first appearance of the season in early June. In his first two games, he was the losing pitcher, recording his first win with 2 earned runs over 7.2 innings against Kiwoom on the 15th. With the victory against LG, his record improved to 2 wins and 2 losses with an earned run average of 4.57.

During the interview, Kwak Bin expressed his respect for Park Dong-won, saying, "I thought it was going to go over as soon as I threw it. In fact, I was surprised because I thought I pitched it really well, but he pushed it over the Jamsil fence. I feel like I didn’t just give up a home run to my senior Park Dong-won, but to Aaron Judge. There's no denying it."

Kwak Bin also said, "In the sixth inning, I faced Dong-won hyung as the leadoff hitter, and that was harder than pitching 5 innings."

Acting manager Jo Seong-hwan said before the game that Kwak Bin slightly modified his pitching form. Kwak Bin said, "I tried to throw comfortably and not overextend my arm swing, which had become too big."

He explained that modifying his pitching form improved his control, stating, "I think my command has improved. The strike rate in today’s game compared to the last game was around 70%. There are pros and cons, but I think it’s better to pitch like this even if I get hit today. For now, I feel my control has become more stable."

Kwak Bin also mentioned that he changed his mindset. He said, "Even if I give up 4 runs like today, I want to pitch 6 to 7 innings. There may be situations where I give up walks, but even if I do, I’ve thought that I want to give them meaning, and if I give up hits, I’ll learn from them."

When Kwak Bin returned in early June, the manager had changed. Doosan is currently in 9th place. Kwak Bin stated, "I don't feel much pressure, and in fact, I feel much more at ease. We were really having a tough time. It's so enjoyable to share wins one game at a time with the younger players, instead of thinking ‘we have to win today,’ it feels more like ‘let’s grow together one game at a time.’"
