The KIA Tigers extended their winning streak to six games, securing the 4th place.

KIA defeated SSG 5-4 in a game held at Incheon’s SSG Landers Field on the 22nd. The early matchup between foreign pitchers Nail (KIA) and Anderson (SSG) was intense.

KIA's Park Chan-ho hit a ball that took an irregular bounce in front of the third baseman, resulting in a lucky double as it rolled into left field after two outs in the top of the 4th inning. Oh Sun-woo got on base with a walk, and Wisdom hit a timely single to score the first run.

In the top of the 7th inning, after one out, Oh Sun-woo hit a 142 km/h fastball from SSG's bullpen pitcher Kim Min, sending it over the center field wall for a solo home run (his 8th of the season).

Starter Nail allowed a walk to Jung Jun-jae after one out in the bottom of the 7th inning and then gave up a single to Eredia. Eredia was ejected for cursing at the umpire. The game was briefly halted due to a protest by SSG manager Lee Seung-yong, and Nail waited while practicing his pitches.

After the game resumed, Nail allowed a three-run home run to Han Yu-seom in their matchup on the first pitch, which went over the right-center field wall.

In the top of the 8th inning, with one out and runners on first and second, Kim Seok-hwan came in as a pinch hitter and hit a two-run home run over the right-center field wall against No Kyung-eun, turning the game around to 4-3.

In the top of the 9th inning, KIA extended their lead to 5-3 with a sacrifice fly from Kim Ho-ryeong after consecutive walks by Wisdom and Choi Hyung-woo with one out and runners on second and third. In the bottom of the 9th inning, closer Jeong Hae-young allowed one run with a sacrifice fly with one out and runners on first and third, but held on for a 5-4 victory.

Starter Nail pitched 6⅓ innings, allowing 3 hits (1 home run), 2 walks, and recording 5 strikeouts with 3 earned runs. Rookie Lee Ho-min made his relief debut with no runs in ⅔ innings to earn his first win. Jeong Hae-young recorded a save in the 9th inning with 1 earned run over 1 inning, marking his career total at 140 saves.

Manager Lee Beom-ho noted after the game, "Starter Nail fulfilled his role in the ace matchup. Although he gave up runs, he took responsibility for the inning and became the foundation for today’s victory. The subsequent pitchers maintained the lead well. I also congratulate Lee Ho-min on his debut win."

The manager also mentioned, "We faced the opposing ace, which made it difficult for our lineup, but our core hitters scored when needed, and even in unfavorable counts, Kim Seok-hwan maintained focus and achieved the best result."

Lastly, he expressed, "I thank the fans who sent us a lot of support today. Thanks to the fans’ support, we were able to finish this week unbeaten. We'll rest well on Monday and do our best to achieve good results in next week’s games."
