Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich) is increasingly classified as a player with a high possibility of transfer within the club. Reports from Germany indicate that the club's leadership and coaching staff are considering Kim Min-jae as one of the sellable assets this summer.

Kicker reported on the 20th (Korean time) that 'the Munich board intends to carry out both roster adjustments and financial stabilization in this transfer market,' adding that 'Kim Min-jae is one of the assets being considered for release. The coaching staff is placing more weight on the retention of Sasa Bojan.'

Kim Min-jae contributed to the team's Bundesliga title last season and performed as a starting center-back from his first year, but his performance plummeted in the latter half of the season due to an Achilles injury. Particularly, he received criticism from analysts and fans for causing a critical goal against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, leading to a perception that Bayern Munich's trust in him has wavered.

Currently, Bayern Munich is implementing strategies for the summer transfer market while participating in the FIFA Club World Cup. Kicker reported that amid urgent needs to strengthen offensive power, 'after the failed acquisitions of Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams, new targets have emerged such as Rafael Leão (AC Milan), Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton), and Ansu Fati (PSG).'

However, financial capacity is necessary to realize these acquisitions. Bayern Munich made a revenue of €35 million (54.4 billion won) by selling Mathys Tel to Tottenham, but additional funding is needed. Consequently, some players, like Kim Min-jae, who receive high salaries, have naturally ended up on the sales list.

Kim Min-jae is currently one of the top earners within Munich. According to Sport Bild, Kim Min-jae receives €17 million (26.9 billion won), including bonuses, which is the eighth highest in the club. This amount is considered difficult for many clubs in Europe to handle, making Kim Min-jae's transfer complicated.

In this regard, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano noted, 'Kim Min-jae is attracting interest from several clubs, including PSG, Napoli, and Premier League clubs. However, a transfer within Europe is difficult to realize without salary adjustments.' He further added, 'Saudi Arabia has taken advantage of this gap. Multiple clubs, including Al Nassr, are prepared to offer Kim Min-jae a higher salary than he currently receives.'

Kim Min-jae has clearly expressed his intentions. In an interview last April, he said, 'I have no reason to leave. I want to stay. I hope to improve my condition next season and show a good performance.' However, apart from the player’s personal wishes, various factors such as the club's strategy, competition for positions within the team, and financial structure could act as variables affecting his future.

Bayern Munich is operating various defensive resources such as Upamecano, Stanisic, and Ito with the addition of Jonathan Tah, and internally preparing for a rebuilding process through natural competition. Kim Min-jae is also in a position where he needs to prove a clear advantage in this competitive landscape.
