Professional baseball player Mel Rojas Jr. of the KT Wiz is beginning to readjust his batting skills.
KT removed Rojas from the roster ahead of the home game against the NC Dinos at Suwon KT Wiz Park on the 21st.
Rojas, who has hit a total of 173 home runs and is just 2 away from breaking the all-time record for foreign hitters, has struggled this season with a batting average of .251 (68 hits in 271 at-bats), 9 home runs, 32 RBIs, and 38 runs scored, along with 1 stolen base. In particular, he has only managed a batting average of .179 (7 hits in 39 at-bats), 1 home run, 6 RBIs, and 5 runs in the last 10 games.
In response, KT has given Rojas the opportunity to readjust his batting skills. A club official noted, "We decided to take this step as he needs to readjust his batting. He will join the Futures team to focus on regaining his form."
KT has established its starting lineup with left fielder Kim Min-hyeok, second baseman Kim Sang-su, right fielder Ahn Hyun-min, designated hitter Lee Jeong-hoon, catcher Jang Seong-woo, first baseman Lee Ho-yeon, third baseman Heo Gyeong-min, center fielder Bae Jeong-dae, and shortstop Kwon Dong-jin. Left-handed pitcher Oh Won-seok will take the mound.
NC, with right-handed pitcher Mok Ji-hoon as the starting pitcher, arranged its batting order with shortstop Kim Joo-won, left fielder Kwon Hee-dong, second baseman Park Min-woo, designated hitter Matt Davidson, right fielder Park Gun-woo, first baseman Seo Ho-cheol, catcher Kim Hyung-jun, third baseman Kim Hwi-jip, and center fielder Cheon Jae-hwan.
