Atletico Madrid won 3-1 against the Seattle Sounders in the second group stage match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup held at Lumen Field in Seattle, U.S., on the 20th (Korea time).
With this victory, Atletico experienced its first win in the Club World Cup. By earning 3 points, it maintained its 3rd place in Group B.
Atletico formed a 4-4-2 lineup. Julian Alvarez and Aleksandar Sorloth formed the attacking combination, while Rodrigo De Paul, Koke, Pablo Barrios, and Juliano Simeone filled the midfield. Javi Galan, Robin Le Normand, Jose Gimenez, and Marcos Llorente made up the back four, and Jan Oblak defended the goal.

It seemed Seattle was about to score again. In the 34th minute of the second half, Georgi Minungul received a through ball and shot. The ball spilled to the unmarked Jesus Pereira, who shot it in. Though it found the net, an offside was called.
Five minutes of stoppage time were given. The match concluded with Atletico's 3-1 victory.
