New Tottenham manager Thomas Frank (52) praised his predecessor Ange Postecoglou (60).

Frank has recently taken over as head coach after Postecoglou led Tottenham to victory in the UEFA Europa League. Frank showed respect for Postecoglou, who brought a trophy to Tottenham after 17 years, calling him a 'Tottenham legend.'

Frank said in his first interview with the Tottenham official channel on the 19th (Korean time), "Postecoglou did something special. He will remain a legend of Tottenham forever," and added, "I am someone who steps in on the foundation he built. I will humbly continue the legacy left by his coaching staff."

Frank continued, "The emotions and excitement on the faces of the fans were truly amazing," adding, "If we can create more moments like this, that is the ultimate dream."

Frank secured a spot in the 2025-2026 UEFA Champions League thanks to Postecoglou's legacy of winning the Europa League. He attracted interest from several clubs, including Manchester United and Aston Villa, while elevating Brentford to mid-table.

Frank described Tottenham as "an exciting club with immense potential" and said, "I had deep conversations about the club's structure, processes, and the direction and team composition I envision with Chairman Daniel Levy, CEO Vinai Venkatesham, and Director General Johan Lange."

He remarked, "Right now, it feels like a fairy tale. Everyone is happy, the sun is shining, and everything looks wonderful," while acknowledging, "But we haven’t played a single game yet." Nevertheless, he pledged, "I will do my best every day to provide magical moments for the fans."

He revealed an aggressive philosophy, stating, "If you don't take risks, that's a risk in itself. It's okay if we lose the ball. However, not giving our best is unacceptable," emphasizing, "We must be brave and make the players believe in themselves."

Frank's formal debut match is set for Aug. 14 against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the UEFA Super Cup in Udinese, Italy. He will then face Burnley in the Premier League opener on Aug. 16 and head to Manchester City on the 23rd.

Meanwhile, Tottenham under Frank will embark on an Asian tour, facing Arsenal in Hong Kong on July 31 and Newcastle United in Korea on Aug. 3. Additionally, they will play an away friendly against Bayern Munich in Munich, Germany, on Aug. 8.
