The professional baseball team LG Twins is adjusting its starting rotation.

On the 20th, LG's game against Doosan, scheduled to take place at Seoul's Jamsil Baseball Stadium, was canceled due to rain. The day's heavy precipitation led to four game cancellations: in Seoul, Incheon (KIA-SSG), Suwon (NC-KT), and Daejeon (Kiwoom-Hanwha).

LG is adjusting its starting rotation. The two left-handed pitchers (Song Seung-gi and Son Ju-yeong) will be separated to avoid pitching consecutively. Son Ju-yeong, who has been excluded from the first-team roster for rest, will be given a break longer than ten days.

Manager Youm Kyoung-youb said in a media interview after the rain cancellation was decided on the 20th at Jamsil Baseball Stadium, "We will go with right-left-right-left-right. Tomorrow's starter will be Hernandez. Sunday will be Song Seung-gi."

He continued, "Son Ju-yeong will rest for about 15 days as a starter. I think it wouldn't be good if he doesn't pitch in games, so he will pitch in relief tomorrow. He expressed his desire to pitch in relief, aiming for 1-2 innings with less than 35 pitches as a left-handed one-point pitcher."

Hernandez faced Park Geon-woo in the 2nd inning with one out during the NC game on the 17th at Jamsil, throwing a fastball that hit the helmet resulting in an automatic ejection. He threw 22 pitches. After a two-day rest, he was preparing to start against Doosan on the 20th, but with the rain cancellation, he will start against Doosan on the 21st.

LG's starting rotation will follow the order of Hernandez, Song Seung-gi, Chiriños, Son Ju-yeong, and Im Chan-kyu. Son Ju-yeong will be registered on the first-team roster on the 21st and will pitch 1-2 innings as a relief pitcher, preparing to start against KT on the 25th. Im Chan-kyu, who was excluded from the first team on the 16th, is expected to return to the first team on the 26th to start against KT.

Starting pitcher Chiriños struggled, giving up 6 runs in 4⅔ innings during the NC game on the 18th at Jamsil. Manager Youm stated, "I told Chiriños that he needs to use the overall strike zone lower."

Chiriños' greatest strengths are his two-seam and forkball. If the two-seam rises, it would likely be a day with many solid hits. Overall, since the (ABS) strike zone has been lowered, I spoke with the performance analysis team, telling them to throw in a lower general zone. When he performed well, the zone was low. Recent pitching data shows that the strike zone has increased by about 2 pitches. Lowering it by about 2 pitches should be entirely feasible," he analyzed.

He added, "Chiriños has achieved 7 wins, so he has fulfilled his role. Since Hernandez has been rested for more than a month, it's now time for Hernandez to perform."

When asked if LG's foreign pitchers appear weaker among the top teams, Manager Youm replied, "Our foreign pitchers seem weak. Other teams are too strong, making us appear weaker. Song Seung-gi's contributions are immense. If he hadn't performed, we would have been fighting around 3rd to 4th place. The fact that Seung-gi achieved 7 wins, along with Chan-kyu and Seung-gi's endurance, is why we are now in the upper tier (1st to 2nd place)."
