The Doosan Bears emerged victorious after a slugfest.

Doosan won 9-8 against the Samsung Lions in an away game at Daegu Samsung Lions Park on the 19th, thanks to Kim Gi-yeon's game-winning hit. They successfully escaped a losing streak. On the other hand, Samsung finished the midweek three-game series with 2 wins and 1 loss.

Samsung's starting lineup consisted of right fielder Park Seung-kyu, center fielder Kim Sung-yoon, left fielder Koo Ja-wook, designated hitter Lewin Diaz, shortstop Lee Jae-hyun, third baseman Jeon Byeong-woo, first baseman Park Byung-ho, second baseman Ryu Ji-hyuk, and catcher Kim Do-hwan. The starting pitcher was right-hander Yang Chang-seop.

In response, Doosan lined up as center fielder Jung Soo-bin, designated hitter Kim Dong-jun, catcher Yang Eui-ji, left fielder Kim Jae-hwan, right fielder Jake Cave, shortstop Lee Yoo-chan, second baseman Oh Myung-jin, third baseman Lim Jong-seong, and first baseman Kim Min-seok. Foreign pitcher Jack Logue took the mound as the starter.

Samsung seized the momentum by completing a big inning in the first. With two outs and no runners on base, Koo Ja-wook and Lewin Diaz hit consecutive singles, and Lee Jae-hyun was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Jeon Byeong-woo drew a bases-loaded walk to score the first run, and in the continued bases-loaded opportunity, Park Byung-ho launched a grand slam off Doosan starter Jack Logue. On a 0B-2S count, he powered a pitch over the right field wall. The distance was 105 meters.

Doosan started to fight back in the second inning. After one out, Cave hit a double to right-center, and Lee Yoo-chan's walk put runners on first and second. Oh Myung-jin then hit a single to left-center, bringing one run back. Shortly after, Lim Jong-seong's double scored Lee Yoo-chan. Thanks to an error by the opposing pitcher and a sacrifice fly by Kim Min-seok, Doosan quickly recovered four runs, tightening the score to a one-run deficit.

Doosan again took advantage in the third, capitalizing on consecutive walks to Kim Jae-hwan and Cave to create another opportunity with no outs and runners on first and second. Lee Yoo-chan's groundout to third brought one out and runners on first and third. Oh Myung-jin hit a single to center, leveling the score at 5-5.

In response, Samsung regained the lead 7-5 in the bottom of the third with a two-run homer by Park Byung-ho. After one out, Lee Jae-hyun sent a fly ball towards the left field pole. Lee rounded the bases with ease, while the Doosan bench requested a video review. The result was a foul. Lee then hit a double splitting left-center. Shortly after, Jeon Byeong-woo struck out looking. With two outs and a runner on second, Park Byung-ho hit a two-run homer to left-center.

Doosan took advantage in the fourth with hits from Kim Min-seok, Jung Soo-bin, and Yang Eui-ji to load the bases. Kim Jae-hwan's groundout to first only added to the out count. In the continued bases-loaded opportunity with two outs, Cave hit a two-run single, leveling the score at 7-7.

In the seventh, Samsung sought to extend its lead after leadoff hitter Kim Sung-yoon drew a walk. Koo Ja-wook and Diaz both flew out to center and popped out to third, seemingly slowing the momentum. However, Yang Do-geun revived the mood with a single to left. With two outs, and runners on first and second, Jeon Byeong-woo delivered a clean hit that fell in front of the center fielder, bringing the runner on second home. The score was now 8-7.

In the eighth, trailing by one run, Doosan capitalized on a hit-by-pitch by Kang Seung-ho, a single by Jung Soo-bin, and a sacrifice bunt by Kim Dong-jun to create an opportunity with one out and runners on second and third for a turnaround. Pinch hitter Kim In-tae drew a walk, loading the bases. Kim Gi-yeon then hit a single to center, bringing in two runners and putting Doosan ahead at 9-8. Samsung's missed opportunity in the bottom of the ninth with one out and the bases loaded felt particularly regrettable.

Both teams' starters performed below expectations. Samsung's Yang Chang-seop struggled, allowing 5 hits, 1 walk, and 4 runs in 2 innings. Doosan's Jack Logue faced similar difficulties—6 hits (including 2 home runs), 4 walks, 6 strikeouts, and 7 runs in 5 innings.
