Tottenham Hotspur's transition to Thomas Frank as manager has amplified concerns regarding Son Heung-min's future.

On the 19th (Korea time), Tottenham officially shared Frank's comments upon his appointment and mentions regarding the squad, but team captain Son Heung-min and key defender Cristian Romero were ultimately not mentioned.

The former Brentford manager, who has proven his skills in the Premier League, expressed his ambitions in his first official interview after being chosen as Tottenham's next manager, saying, "I am very honored to take on this huge challenge. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with excellent coaches and players." He added, "This team has abundant potential for development. We are ready to build something new on the foundation laid by coach Postecoglou."

However, as discussions about the squad began in earnest, even greater questions arose. While Frank named players like Bentancur, Maddison, and Solanke and expressed optimism about young, promising players, he did not include captain Son Heung-min and starting defender Romero in his list. Particularly, in the context where Frank emphasized the importance of players with "rich experience," the absence of these two is interpreted as significant.

Local media also paid attention to these comments. Football London reported, "The omission of Son Heung-min and Romero, who represent Tottenham, from the new manager's mentions can be read as a signal indicating transfer possibilities."

Rumors surrounding Son Heung-min's transfer are becoming increasingly specific. Jose Mourinho, leading Fenerbahce, has shown interest in a reunion, and in Saudi Arabia, clubs like Al Ahli, Al Nassr, and Al Qadisiyah are actively moving to acquire Son. According to transfer market sources, Ben Jacobs stated, "The three clubs in Saudi Arabia have set a transfer fee of 40 million euros (63.4 billion won) and an annual salary of 30 million euros (47.5 billion won) for Son Heung-min."

In relation to this, former Brentford manager Martin Allen noted, "Son Heung-min is a legend who has dedicated himself to Tottenham, but recently, his sharpness has dropped compared to before," adding, "Frank will likely try to bring in new faces to inject fresh energy into the team."

He continued, "Son Heung-min will remain a legend even if he leaves. But the team needs change."

Tottenham Hotspur News evaluated, "Son Heung-min's potential transfer is no longer surprising. Young, talented resources should have the opportunity to fill that gap."

Meanwhile, it remains uncertain what role Son Heung-min will be assigned under Frank's management. With one year left until the contract expires, it cannot be ruled out that Tottenham may make a quick decision considering transfer revenue.
