Thank you for understanding.

Hanwha Eagles manager Kim Kyung-moon expressed his gratitude on the 18th ahead of the game against the Lotte Giants at Busan's Sajik Stadium for Ryan Weiss, who had to leave the mound again after coming close to a shutout victory the previous day (17th).

Weiss came down from the mound after recording a perfect pitching line of 3 hits allowed, 0 walks, 9 strikeouts, and no earned runs over 8 innings and 90 pitches in the previous day's (17th) game against Lotte. It was a situation where it would have been fine to be ambitious for a shutout victory. However, manager Kim Kyung-moon and pitching coach Yang Sang-moon once again dampened Weiss's desire for a shutout.

This was not the first opportunity for Weiss to achieve a shutout victory. On May 11th, against Kiwoom, Weiss also delivered a perfect performance with 1 hit allowed, 2 walks, 9 strikeouts, and no earned runs over 8 innings, throwing 93 pitches. However, Weiss did not reach a shutout victory.

After the game on the 17th, Weiss said, "I felt regret about the shutout victory," not concealing his true feelings. However, he noted, "Winning for our team is more important, so I understand. I just want to be satisfied with our team’s victory."

Manager Kim Kyung-moon stated, "In fact, if there were no games behind, I should have let him go for a shutout victory. But after a full game and a shutout, pitchers tend to perform poorly in their next outings. While records are important, we also need to finish the first half well and adjust for the remaining second half of the season, so I’m grateful that the player understood," adding, "If he says he wants to pitch until the end, I'll let him, but if I go and ask for understanding, the player knows why and accepts it. That's why I'm thankful as a manager."

Thanks to Weiss's 8-inning effort, Hanwha's bullpen was able to take optimal rest. The batting lineup remains relatively unchanged. Lee Won-seok (center fielder), Ahn Chi-hong (designated hitter), Moon Hyun-bin (left fielder), Roh Si-hwan (third baseman), Chae Eun-seong (first baseman), Kim Tae-yean (right fielder), Lee Do-yoon (second baseman), Choi Jae-hun (catcher), and Ha Ju-suk (shortstop) were the starting lineup. The starting pitcher is Eom Sang-baek.
