Son Heung-min's (33, Tottenham Hotspur) future continues to attract considerable attention.

British media outlet Talksport reported on the 18th (Korea time) that "the interest of Saudi Arabian clubs in Son Heung-min continues steadily. Al Ahli, Al Nasr, and Al Qadisiya are three clubs showing interest. Son Heung-min is also receiving attention from Major League Soccer (MLS) in the U.S. and clubs in Turkey. Bayer Leverkusen discussed his return internally last May, but no official offer has been made yet due to the possibility of other priorities."

Son Heung-min is under contract with Tottenham until summer 2026. There is an analysis that this summer is essentially the right time for the club to sell him if they receive an appropriate transfer fee.

It seems that the Saudi teams are fervently pursuing him.

Talksport noted that "they are prepared to pay about €40 million (approximately 63.3 billion won) to acquire Son Heung-min. In particular, Al Ahli is seeking to sign a marquee star after winning the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League last season, with a goal to strengthen their left-wing attack. The Saudi side plans to offer Son Heung-min a contract worth €30 million (approximately 47.4 billion won) in salary. They believe that if Son joins, immediate revenue generation through broadcasting rights deals with Korean broadcasters is possible."

Tottenham will play against Newcastle on Aug. 3 at Seoul World Cup Stadium in the "2025 Coupang Play Series." This match, which pits the Europa League winners Tottenham against the Carabao Cup winners Newcastle, is predicted to have significant symbolism and excitement. The discussions regarding Son Heung-min's transfer are likely to be postponed until after this match.

British BBC reported on the 17th that "Son Heung-min's future will likely be decided after the conclusion of Tottenham's Asia tour."

An interesting point in the Talksport report is that Bayer Leverkusen has also shown interest in acquiring Son Heung-min.

Son Heung-min played for Bayer Leverkusen from 2013 to 2015, recording a total of 87 matches and 29 goals. During the 2013-2014 season, Son Heung-min scored 10 league goals, contributing to the team's securing of a Champions League spot. In the 2014-2015 season, he became the team's top scorer, netting 17 goals in official matches, leaving a strong impression by scoring multiple goals in a match against Bayern Munich.

Son Heung-min made his name in the German league with his quick speed and two-footed shooting ability while at Bayer Leverkusen. He also performed in European competitions, catching Tottenham's radar, and successfully transferred in 2015.

Talksport reported that "so far, Tottenham has not received any official offers for Son Heung-min from Saudi or other clubs. Even if a substantial offer comes in, they have stated they will not force a transfer. The final decision rests with Son Heung-min himself."
