Saudi teams are serious about acquiring Son Heung-min (33, Tottenham).

The British outlet TalkSport reported on the 17th that 'Saudi Pro League teams Al Ahli, Al Nassr, and Al Qadisiyah are competing to sign Son Heung-min this summer. The three clubs are prepared to pay €40 million (about 63.3 billion won) for his transfer.'

What’s even more surprising is the salary that Son will effectively receive. TalkSport noted that 'Saudi Arabia is prepared to offer Son a salary of €30 million (about 47.5 billion won). This indicates how much Saudi Arabia values acquiring Son. If Son agrees to the transfer, the Saudi club can sign a lucrative broadcasting rights deal with Korean broadcasters, allowing for immediate revenue generation.'

Even if they offer a substantial salary to Son, it is said that they can sufficiently cover it through the revenue earned from the Korean market. In fact, the Premier League generates massive revenue through broadcasting matches featuring Korean players like Son.

If Saudi Arabia wins the competition for Son's transfer, Al Ahli has the most advantage. TalkSport reported, 'Saudi Pro League executives especially want to give Al Ahli, who won the AFC Champions League last season, priority for star player acquisitions.' It is assessed that acquiring Son would be beneficial for promoting the league.

The clubs interested in signing Son are not limited to Saudi Arabia. The outlet added, 'Son is also attracting interest from Major League Soccer (MLS) in the U.S. and Turkey. His former team, Bayer Leverkusen, discussed the possibility of his return internally last May but has not made a concrete offer. Bayer Leverkusen is prioritizing other players.'
