Yang Min-hyeok (19, Tottenham) is expected to be loaned out again this summer.
Alasdair Gold, a dedicated Tottenham reporter for the British media outlet Football London, analyzed a list of 39 players whose future statuses are worth noting under the new head coach Thomas Frank on the 17th (Korea time), mentioning the possibility of Yang Min-hyeok's loan again.
Gold explained, "Yang Min-hyeok has adapted to the English stage, having appeared in 14 matches with QPR, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist. However, it is clear that he is still an incomplete talent. It is time to judge whether another loan this summer will aid his growth. The likelihood of a loan is high."
Yang Min-hyeok confirmed his transfer to Tottenham in July last year. After being officially registered in January this year, he was loaned out to Queens Park Rangers (QPR), which is in the Championship (second division).
On January 29, wearing the QPR uniform, he quickly established himself as a starting forward, recording 2 goals and 1 assist in official matches.
After finishing the season, Yang Min-hyeok has now returned to Tottenham. There have been expectations that he could compete seriously with Tottenham's first team, but internal club sentiments suggest a higher likelihood of pushing for another loan.
Johann Lang, Tottenham's technical director, expressed a positive stance on the loaning of young players.
In an interview posted on the club's official website last February, he stated, "Loans are an essential process for player development. Yang Min-hyeok, along with Will Lankshire and Luka Gunter, can all develop through consistent playing opportunities."
Meanwhile, attention is focused on the future of Tottenham captain Son Heung-min.
Son Heung-min has one year remaining on his contract with Tottenham.
Gold said, "Son Heung-min was not in the best shape last season, but he recorded 23 attacking points in 46 matches. The new head coach Frank will clarify his stance on the captaincy, but Son Heung-min has contributed enough to the team to determine his own choices."
In this context, the British BBC claimed on the 17th that "the decision on Son Heung-min's future is likely to be postponed until after Tottenham's Asia tour this summer."
Tottenham will face Newcastle in the 2025 Coupang Play Series on Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
Before visiting Korea, Tottenham will play a friendly match against Arsenal in Hong Kong on July 31. From Tottenham's perspective, they should benefit from marketing by showcasing their star winger, Son Heung-min.
