The Daegu Metropolitan City Association of the Disabled (acting President Lee Dae-young) participated in the '4th National Harmony Sports Festival' (hereinafter referred to as the Festival), held in Hongcheon County, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, from the 13th to the 15th, creating a stage of unity and inspiration.

This event is a non-competitive sports festival where people with disabilities and non-disabled individuals form teams to compete together, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized by the Korea Disabled Sports Association (President Jeong Jin-wan), and supervised by the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Disabled Sports Association (President Kim Jin-tae). A total of 1,441 participants, including 1,097 athletes and 344 officials and guardians from 17 cities and provinces nationwide, took part.

The Daegu team consisted of a total of 59 members (48 athletes and 11 officials), competing in seven events, including table tennis, badminton, sitting volleyball, paratriathlon, park golf, billiards, and fishing.

At this event, the Daegu team achieved meaningful results by winning in four events: sitting volleyball (3 people with disabilities + 3 non-disabled), park golf (2 people with disabilities + 2 non-disabled), wheelchair doubles badminton (1 person with disabilities + 1 non-disabled), and quadruple badminton (4 people with disabilities).

Hong Jun-hak, Secretary-General of the Daegu Association of the Disabled, noted, 'It was a meaningful time for people with disabilities and non-disabled individuals to share friendship and unity through sports' and added, 'We will strive to ensure more athletes can participate in such events. I hope this event will also help improve awareness of disabilities.'
